About Brentwood
About Brentwood
Brentwood is an upscale neighborhood in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. It has been home to several celebrities, including Marilyn Monroe, Harrison Ford, Cindy Crawford, and LeBron James.
Brentwood is also the home to the Getty Center, one of the most well-known museums in the entire world. J. Paul Getty’s legacy lives on in this museum, as he strongly believed that art has tremendous impact and value upon our modern culture. He wanted a place to showcase his own art and donated several pieces to the Los Angeles Museum of Art. Soon, however, the Getty Center opened, and ever since has been a premier museum for fabulous art ever since.
The Bel-Air Brentwood Fire of 1961 devastated the community and forced celebs and even former vice-president, Richard Nixon, to flee the destruction. Several hundred structures were destroyed, including the homes of the rich and famous. As horrendous as the fire was that year, thankfully, no one was killed.
Brentwood is one of the safest neighborhoods in Los Angeles with a 44% lower crime rate than the entirety of Los Angeles County. If you’re a shopping aficionado, shopping is prevalent in Brentwood, and you will not be without a trendy shop or fancy boutique to peruse.
